Garlic update

Garlic is now available, it is £2 per bulb (£1.71 when you buy 3 or more bulbs of any variety) plus postage and packing.


Garlic selection pack is £4.98 for 3 bulbs (one of each variety) plus postage and packing.


P&P is a one off cost of £4.95 covering both garlic and any plants from the rest of October delivery. Usally added during the check out process. Order with a friend and spread the cost.


Bulk Garlic~ If a few bulbs isn't enough we do sell garlic by the box. You can get a 500g box of any of the varieties (Germidour, Messidrome, and Therador), bulk quantity of garlic bulbs will contain whole and/or part bulbs plus loose cloves up to the weight of 500g. Bulbs during the grading process may have had damaged cloves removed, standard practise to maintain the quality of the bulbs during storage.


A box will cost £8.80 plus the post and packaging of £4.95 up to 3 boxes, then £6.00 for 4 boxes or more. Single box will be £13.75.

Garlic ~ Germidour (October)

Organic bulbs - RHS Award of Garden Merit

Autumn planting. Softneck garlic.

Plant : from September to December
Harvesting : from July

Garlic 'Germidour' is a well-known and reliable variety. It comes from French production but is well adapted to UK growing conditions. This softneck garlic has an RHS AGM and produces large, white bulbs with a mild yet rich flavour.

Approximaely 8 -10 cloves per bulb (price for a single bulb)

Harvest garlic from July, when the leaves begin to turn yellow, by loosening them from the ground with a trowel. Gently wash and dry garlic bulbs, then place them in a warm dry position to dry out, prior to storing them. Bulbs can then be stored in good condition for up to 3 months.

Garlic ~ Messidrome (October)

French white skinned variety with pink cloves for autumn planting.

Most commercially grown garlic is of the softneck type. This means that it does not produce a flowering stalk. Softnecks tend to have more, but smaller, cloves and a longer shelf-life than the hardnecks. This variety ('Messidrome' ) is a softneck type of garlic.

Approximaely 8 -10 cloves per bulb (price for a single bulb).

White bulbs with purplish reflections of 8 to 10 beige cloves
Plant : from September to December
Harvesting : from June to July

Very hardy variety, very strong and very divided. Short dormancy variety which MUST be planted by the end of December. Large pink and white bulbs with excellent taste.
